Getting started

What is Kelu?

Kelu is an on-demand motorbike delivery app. You book a delivery, and a verified, independent Rider picks it up and takes it where it needs to go, parcels, food, pharmacy items and most legal goods. We're launching first in Edo State, with Lagos and Abuja next.

How do I create an account?

Download the Kelu app, sign up with your email and phone number, and verify the code we send you. Once you're verified, you can book your first delivery.

I didn't get my verification code.

Check your spam folder and make sure your email and phone number are entered correctly. Wait a moment and tap resend. If it still doesn't arrive, contact us at [email protected].

Which phones are supported?

Kelu is available on Android during our pilot. An iPhone (iOS) version is planned after launch.

Booking a delivery

How do I book a delivery?

Open the app, enter your pickup and drop-off locations, describe the item, choose how you'll pay, and confirm at the fare shown. We'll match you with a nearby Rider, and you can track the delivery from pickup to drop-off.

How long does matching take?

We offer your order to the nearest available Riders right away. Matching usually takes a short while depending on demand and how many Riders are online nearby. You'll see the status change to "accepted" once a Rider takes it.

Can I track my Rider?

Yes. Once a Rider accepts, you'll see their name, vehicle and live location on the map, and you can message or call them in the app.

Can I book a delivery for someone else?

Yes, just enter that person's details as the recipient. Let them know in advance so they're ready when the Rider arrives or calls.

Can I change the address after booking?

A Rider is only required to use the locations in your order. If you need to change an address, message the Rider as soon as possible, the fare may change, or cancel and rebook with the correct details.

3

Fares & payment

How are fares calculated?

Your fare is shown in the app before you confirm, based on distance, estimated time and demand. You always see the exact price up front, so there are no surprises at the door.

How can I pay?

You can pay with your in-app wallet, a debit or credit card, or cash, where offered. Card payments and wallet top-ups are handled securely by Paystack, in Naira.

How does the wallet work?

Top up your wallet in advance and spend it on deliveries, it's the fastest way to pay. When a refund is due, it goes back to your wallet.

Is my card safe?

Yes. Card details are processed directly by Paystack. Kelu never sees or stores your full card number.

Can I get a receipt?

Yes, you'll find your order history and receipts under your deliveries in the app.

4

During & after delivery

How do I prepare my package?

Seal and pad anything fragile, and pack items so they travel safely on a motorbike. Add a handling note to the order, or tell your Rider directly if something needs extra care.

Can I rate my Rider?

Yes. After each delivery you can leave a rating and comment. Your feedback helps keep the Kelu community safe and reliable.

Something went wrong with my delivery.

Contact us at [email protected] within 48 hours of the delivery, with your order details and any photos, and we'll look into it. See the Terms of Service for how refunds work.

Can a Rider ask me for a tip?

No. Riders are not allowed to demand tips. If this happens, please let us know.

5

Cancellations & refunds

Can I cancel an order?

Yes, in the app. If you cancel before a Rider is assigned, there's no charge. You can cancel free of charge within 2 minutes of a Rider accepting. After that, or once a Rider has set off, a cancellation fee may apply, and the amount is shown in the app.

How do refunds work?

Eligible refunds, for example a cancelled prepaid order or an item lost in transit, are returned to your wallet. Reach out to support to start a refund.

6

Where is Kelu available?

We're launching first in Edo State, beginning with Benin City, then expanding to Lagos and Abuja. We'll add more areas as we grow.

7
